Microsurveys are currently under beta. To get access, contact our team at [email protected] and we can grant early access to Microsurveys on your account.
Using Microsurveys in Caravel you can easily embed feedback widgets and popup surveys to collect feedback from your users within your product experience.
To get started designing your first Microsurveys, head over to Sources and click New Source.

Creating a Microsurvey Source

  • Navigate to the main side menu and select Sources
  • Click New Source
  • Select Microsurvey as the type
  • Give your Microsurvey a Name and Description and click Continue to start configuring your questions and copy.

Configuring Microsurveys

In the Configure step, you configure the questions you want to ask your users for this survey and customize the various copy in the widget.

Adding Questions

There is no limit to the number of questions you can add to a Microsurvey, but keep in mind, the more you ask your user, the less likely they are to complete your Microsurvey. We always recommend keeping them as short as possible – three questions at the most if you can help it.
When adding questions you have three types to select from Text Responses, 1-5 Ratings, and 1-10 Ratings.
Use Text Response to collect feedback and input from users. All text responses get analyzed by Caravel's AI.
You can use 1-5 Ratings to capture general ratings, like "One a scale of 1-5, how would you rate experience?" and to measure metrics that are calculated using a 1-5 scale, like CSAT and CES.
You can use 1-10 Ratings to capture general ratings where you want more granularity, like "On a scale of 1-10, how important is our X to your company" and to measure metrics that are calculated using a 1-10 scale, like NPS.

Designing Your Microsurvey

Use the Micorsurvey Designer to customize colors.
You can also control the location of the popup, if you want an overlay behind the widget, and the color and opacity of the overlay.
