Connecting to Slack
Our Slack connector enables you to sync Slack messages and threads to Caravel from public and private channels. Caravel's Slack app will only analyze channels you grant it permission to read.
To start analyzing your Slack conversations, navigate to the main flyout menu and select Connections. Select the Slack connector and hit Add to Slack on the results screen.

This will redirect you to Slack where you'll be asked to Allow the Caravel Slack app access to your workspace. Click Allow to add the Caravel app to your workspace.

For Caravel to read conversations from any of your channels, public or private, you'll need to invite the Caravel slack app to your channels.
To invite the Caravel app you can type
/add apps
in the slack message input and select the Add apps to this channel shortcut.
Or, you can simply mention Caravel by typing @Caravel and sending the message to the channel. Once Caravel is added to the channel, you will see the following notification:

Once you've added Caravel to the channels you want to analyze, your next step is to create a Slack Source.
